Setting the stage for creating new developmental space

Binh Phuoc is located in the dynamic development region of the Southeast - a place considered as the leading center of economics, finance, trade, services, high-quality human resource development, science-technology, innovation, and digital transformation in the country and in the Southeast Asia region, playing an important role in linking development with other economic regions. With many advantages in terms of development space, investment attraction policies, gradually completed traffic, industrial infrastructure, etc., Binh Phuoc has been and is an ideal destination for investors.

At the announcement ceremony held at the end of 2024 on the Binh Phuoc Provincial Master Plan for the period 2021-2030, with a vision to 2050, Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha affirmed that Binh Phuoc had a strategic geographical location, which rests on the Truong Son mountain range at one end, and shares its borders with Cambodia, playing an important role in the new economic corridor, serving as the gateway for economic, cultural and social exchange between the Southeastern region and the Central Highlands, the Mekong sub-region and ASEAN.

Creating new space, new driving force

According to Resolution No. 24-NQ/TW dated October 7, 2022, of the Politburo on socio-economic development and ensuring national defense and security in the Southeast region to 2030, with a vision to 2045, in addition to the orientation on general development of the region, Binh Phuoc is positioned in the planning of sustainable socio-economic development, green growth strategy, and adaptation to climate change.

In particular, innovating the growth model associated with restructuring the regional economy towards modernization, taking the digital economy, sharing economy, green economy, and circular economy as the focus and driving force for development, thereby narrowing the gap in development level with localities in the region.

The master plan of Binh Phuoc province for the period 2021-2030, with a vision to 2050, which was just announced at the end of 2024, is a step to concretize Resolution No. 24 of the Politburo. It has summarized the strategic vision and organized the development space based on resource potential, strategic position, cultural values, and people. In particular, the inter-regional and trans-Asian infrastructure system will connect the economic space of Ho Chi Minh City - Binh Duong - Binh Phuoc; the economic corridor of the Central Highlands - Southeast - Mekong Sub-region.

The planning will create new space, resources, and new driving forces to realize the aspiration of turning Binh Phuoc into a modern industrial province, developing in a prosperous and civilized way, becoming one of the important economic growth poles of the Southeast region, serving as an economic connection with the Central Highlands region, with a harmonious development space between urban and rural areas; and being an "attractive destination" of the Southeast region.

Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairwoman of the Provincial People's Committee Tran Tue Hien affirmed that Resolution No. 24 of the Politburo and the master plan of Binh Phuoc province for the period of 2021-2030, with a vision to 2050, are the legal basis for the province to formulate policies, deploy the arrangement and rearrangement of development space, allocate and effectively use resources, maximize advantages to realize the goals of socio-economic development, national defense and security; serving as the basis and basis for making urban planning, rural planning, land use planning and technical and specialized planning in the province according to the provisions of law; are milestones to help the province proactively create a breakthrough and sustainable development future.

Renewing leadership thinking, making cooperation for mutual development

Identifying that investment capital sources, especially foreign direct investment (FDI), has a positive impact on the economic growth of the province in general and the entire industry in particular, in recent times, Binh Phuoc has been focusing on researching, building, and implementing mechanisms, policies, and comprehensive and synchronous development plans to maximize the potential and strengths of the province. At the same time, the province has been speeding up the implementation of key transport projects for regional connectivity, overcoming disadvantages due to its remote location.

Currently, Binh Phuoc is making efforts to promptly, fully, and accurately announce and publicize administrative procedures on the national database on administrative procedures so that cadres, civil servants, people, and businesses know, implement, and monitor the implementation. 100% of administrative procedure records must be received and processed on the provincial-level administrative procedure settlement information system and connected and synchronized with the National Public Service Portal so that people and businesses can monitor and evaluate the implementation process. Binh Phuoc also committed to closely coordinating with the Government Office to soon complete the upgrading of the National Database on Administrative Procedures in 2025.

Chairwoman of the Provincial People's Committee Tran Tue Hien emphasized that in order to complete the "4-good foundations", including good infrastructure, good human resources, good policies and good public services, the province is prioritizing the development of inter-regional transport infrastructure such as the Ho Chi Minh City - Thu Dau Mot - Chon Thanh expressway and the Gia Nghia (Dak Nong) - Chon Thanh (Binh Phuoc) expressway; Hon Quan specialized airport. The province is developing urban infrastructure, border gate trade infrastructure, economic zone infrastructure, industrial parks, and industrial clusters. It is developing digital infrastructure associated with e-commerce. At the same time, Binh Phuoc is prioritizing the training of human resources with qualifications, skills, and professionalism to meet the requirements of rapid and sustainable socio-economic development. The province is attracting, restructuring, and improving the quality of labor resources with a focus and key points; concentrating on social security.
